The Women’s Ireland team enjoyed a strong week to finish runner’s-up in the early season Octagonal Matches at Costa Ballena in Spain.

Ireland were denied by a strong French side who won the series, while Gillian O’Leary’s side topped their group with three wins to earn their place in the final against France.

The team included: Aideen Walsh (Lahinch), Olivia Costello (Roscommon), Ella Cantwell (Esker Hills), Jessica Reynolds (Co. Sligo) plus Northern Ireland duo Gemma McMeekin (Royal Portrush) and Kayleigh Mulholland (Moyola Park).
